  • Describe the formation, functions and fate of chorion, amnion, yolk sac, allantois, and decidua (AN80.1)
  • Describe the formation and structure of the umbilical cord (AN80.2)
  • Describe the formation of the placenta, its physiological functions, feto-maternal circulation, and placental barrier (AN80.3)

INSTRUCTIONS

Study this module in conjunction with gross anatomy of the placenta and umbilical cord (available in the anatomy museum). The clinical correlations in Indian obstetric practice are high-yield for examinations.
